AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

The tone of the Auckland sharcmarket was unaltered yesterday, there being general inquiry for investment stocks. In Government securities War Loan, 1930, had inquiry at £97 and tho 1938 issue at £97 53, without response. Soldiers' Bonds again had buyers at £101, sellers £102. Soldiers' Inscribed Stock was wanted at £101, no sellers quoting. In local body debentures there was a sale of Auckland Harbour Boards, 5£ per at £95. In banks Nationals of New Zealand changed hand 3 at. £6 13s 6d, late buyers offering £6 12s, sellers £6 15s. New Zealands, which sold on Saturday at 60s 6d, were again available at that figure, buyers offering 60s. New South Wales had buyers at £41 ss, sellers £42 ss; Unions of Australia, -buyers £14 16s, sellers £14 18s. In insurances buyers of New Zealands advanced their offers by Id to 29s 7d, sellers quoting 29s 9d. South British had sale at 42s lOd, with farther inquiry at 42s 6d, sellers 43s 3d. In finance there was a sale of National Mortgage and Agency at 75s 6d. In gas Aucklands, wanted at 24s 9d, were again quoted at 255. There was inquiry for Gisborne's at 12s 6d. In shipping Hud-dart-Parkers sold at 43s 6d, late buyer 3 offering 43s 3d, sellers 43s 6d. Northern Steamships again had buyers at 16s 9d, sellers 17s 6d; P. and 0., deferred stock, buyers £295, sellers £305. Miscellaneous stocks remained practically unchanged. In mining there were transactions in Waihis at 28s and 28s 3d, tho closing quotations being, buyers ; 28s, sellers 28s 3d. Waihi Grand Junctions were again songht at 2s 2d, sellers 2s 4d. Moanataiaris advanced Id, buyers offering Is 9d, sellers 2s 3d.

The following sales took . place: Auckland Harbour Board, 5£ per cent, debentures, £95; National Bank of New Zealand, £6 13s 6d; South British Insurance, 42s lOd; National Mortgage and Agency, 75s 6d: Huddart-Parker, 43s 6d; Waihi, 28s, 28s 3d.
