HOURS AND RATES OF PAY.
LIMITATION OF OVERTIME-
The award of the Arbitration Court has been filed in regard to a dispute between ' the Auckland branch of the Amalgamated \'. ; Engineering Union ' (including motor mechanics,, brass finishers,.tinsmiths and ■--~. sheet metal -workers) and employers of the northern industrial district. : The award, which embodies. without alteration the recommendations 3of , the ~; Conciliation Council, comes into fore© on October 6, and is to remain in operation two years. - The award sets forth that the hours of work shall comprise 44 , per week, all work in excess of the hours to be paid for at the rate of time'-and a-haht for the , first four hours and double time there- . after.;.': : .
