ANONYMOUS CIRCULAR,
REPUDIATION BY MR, OOATES
INSULTING SUGGESTION.
fBX TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL REPORTER.] WELLINGTON. Saturday. "I feel it is really a waste of time taking notice of anonymous typewritten circulars," was the reply of the Hon. J. G. Coates, when asked to-day if ho had any comment to make upon the suggestion in communications to members of Parliament, headed " the New Zealand League," that there should be a coalition Government under the leadership of Mr. Coates.- "However," added the Minister] "as tho suggestion has been so often repeated, though always anonymously, and I am told that it has attracted a certain amount of attention, my reply is this. To bring in my name is an insult to my integrity and it should at least be accepted that I am loyal to my leader, Mr. Massey."
