THE KILLING OF CALVES.
SLAUGHTERED BY THOUSANDS
[Nx TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.} MOKEISTSVTLLE. Saturday. The unusually brisk trade in calfskins by Morrinsville buyers still continues, this being evidence that farmers are still killing calves, the result largely of calves bringing a poor price at sales during the past season. There aro several buyers operating and received as many as 750 skins in one day. It is evident that in the Morrinsville district alone thousands of calves are being lolled (month. So far there does not appear to be any decrease in tho number being slaughtered.
