FATAL AMBITION.

KILLED DIVING OFF BRIDGE.

WOULD-BE PICTURE ACTOR.

NEW YORK. Aug. 31.

A man was killed by jumping from the dizzy heights of the Williamsburg Bridge, across East River, in an effort to break into moving picture work as a dare-devil. Although his services had been refused by the cinematograph companies, ho announced that he would make the attempt. Several photographers took pictures from tugs as he jumped, while policemen vainly attempted to restrain him. He turned over six times and landed on his back in the water. His body has not been recovered.
