BANK EXCHANGE RATE.
BURDEN ON MEAT PRODUCERS A HEAVY EXPORT TAX. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Sept. 11. Mr. David Jones, chairman of the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board, cabled to Mr. Massey regarding tho exchange problem. He pointed out that at present it equals a heavy export tax on tho producers, tho 60-day rate costing about a third of £1,000,000 annually on meat alone.
