TROUT-FISHING SEASON.

GOOD SPORT ANTICIPATED.

LICENSES NOW AVAILABLE.

Trout-fishing prospects for the forthcoming season are regarded as very promising, in view of the reports coming to hand from all parts of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society's district. It is stated that trout of fair size and condition are plentiful in many of the rivers, and that by October 1 some good sport should be available.

Half a million rainbow trout fry were liberated in streams in the society's district last year, and the same number will be liberated this year. The Mangatawhiri and Mangatangi Rivers, near Auckland, and the Southern Wairoa River, above the falls, have been well stocked for two or three years past, and as they are within easy access by motor-car from Auckland, they should be well patronised by anglers. Licenses entitling the holder to fish for trout in any river or lake in New Zealand for the whole season are now on sale at post offices throughout the society's district, and from the secretaries of all affiliated societies. Licenses for males over 16 years of age cost £1 each, and for ladies and boys and girls, under 16, 5s each. .. .. > ■■•■-, '
