SENIOR FIXTURES CURTAILED,
Tho management committed of the Auckland Rugby Football League met last evening, the chairmaa. Mr. W. J. Hammill. preaiding. . ! la regard to tho proposed representative j fixture between Auckland and Christchurch { at Carlaw Park on September 6. a telegram waa received from the aocrotary of the Canterbury Leaiuo intimating that Otago and Canterbury had arranged to play a match on September 6. On. the recommendation of tho advisory committee it was decided to reply that the date suggested was the only Saturday available for the game in Auckland. It ws-s decided to curtail the senior grade competitions by eliminating the fixtures arranged for September 6. A challenge was received from the Auckland City Tramways club to play 4h« Post and Telegraph club, holders of the Wednesday championship shield. An application for the transfer of M, Sherlock from Eilerslie Club to the Lower Waikato was approved and forwarded to the New Zealand council for confirmation. Application for transfer by A. IL McMurtrie from the Devonport club to Richmond was granted. The registration of A. Watson for the City club was approved. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. ' The selectors have chosen the following players for the Possibles v. Probables match to be played as a civrtain-raiser to the Chatham Cup semi-final at the Domain on Saturday. Possibles (Blue and White).—Clark, Thompson, Kane, Catlow, Neesham, MoGarry, Howarth, Dodds, Innes, Dacre and W ilhams. The match will commence- at 1.30 p.m. The Chatham Cup, for which the semifinal between Marist (Wellington) and Harbour Board (Auckland) will bo played on Saturday, arrived in Auckland yesterday and is now on view in Mr. J. Jackson's window, Queen Street. _It is a splendid speci.-' men of the silversmith's art and is a replica of the famous and keenly contested English Cup. It was presented to. the New Zealand Football Association by the ship's company of H.M.S. Chatham and is valued at £100. s GRAMMAR SCHOOL MATCH. Mount Albert Grammar School was defeated at the Domain yesterday by boys of Auckland Grammar School, the score ' being 3 eoai3 to I. Dobell scored for Mount Alßert and Williams, McKelvio and Fraser for Auckland. The game was keenly contested throughout and proved that both teams had been well trained. THE CHINESE TOUR.
