RECIPROCAL TRADE.
AUSTRALIAN EXTENSIONS.
FORECAST OF THE BUDGET.

It is forecasted that tho Federal Treasurer, Dr. Earlo Page, in his Budget speech on Thursday will announce a reduction in Federal inoome tax by £2,000,000.
Other features will, it is stated', be more money lor defence, no reduction in tariff duties to help the primary industries to market their surplus products, and also a reference to trade reciprocity with Canada and tho other Dominions. Speaking at the commercial travellers' annual banquet in Sydney, Mr. H. E. Pratten, Federal Minister for Trade, said tho Government was giving close attention to the question of reciprocal trade with Canada. The extension of; reciprocity treaties with New Zealand and South Africa, and also some practical assistance to the development of trade with eastern countries were also being considered.
