GIRL GUIDES.
One of the largest gatherings recorded in Tuakau was that which attended the concert organised by the Girl Guides. . The programme was an excellent one and reflected the greatest credit on Captain Westland and Lieutenant Chapman who alone were responsible for the training of the performers. Lewis (Puck); Lassies—N. Pirret, ML. Gubb, A. Eowe, "W. Ruebe, J. Littlewood, 0. and A. Donaldson; Lad&—Amy Woollay, Lyle Stride, Louie Clifford, Edna Ruebo, I). Waldron, Nell Pirret; song, by Guide Mavis Peart; camp fire ceremony, by the company. The hall was gaily decorated for the occasion. The Rev. C. A. Yaughan, chairman. oongratulated the troop on the excel lent officers they possessed. Miss Nellie Pirret, who won the handsome gold wristlet watch, presented by Mr, W. J. Tay. lor for the best essay on the guide rules, was presented by the chairman with her prize. , . - < „ :
