MIRACULOUS ESCAPE.
CAR RUNS BACK OVER BANK.
Mr. Robert Henry and his son William, of Stepneyville, Port Nelson, had a miraculous escape from serious accident last Tuesday evening. They were returning home in a car driven by William, and when some distance up the steep pinch of road at Stepneyville something went wrong with the gear. The car went back- ' wards, crashed through the fence behind Mr. Murray's residence, and came to a stop in a perpendicular position in the backyard. . .j. . v The rear portion of Mr. Murray's residence is but a few feet from the road, and there was just room for the car to fall between it and the concrete wall which protects the bank. The roof of the house broke the fall of the car to some extent, as t!je hood was fortunately up. Had the accident occurred a short distance further down the road there would have been a sheer fall of Some 20it. Neither father nor son suffered in any way beyond a severe shock. The hood of the car was wrecked and the body was more or less damaged. Mr. Murray was in his backyard when the car went over, and just managed to step claar.
