THE CHANNEL TUNNEL.
"A DANGEROUS EXPERIMENT" DEFENCE COMMITTEE'S VIEW* LONDON, July 7. Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald announced in the House of Commons that the Imperial Defence Committee was unanimously opposed to a tunnel under the British Channel, because it involved an element of risk to Britain's security. They believed that the past five years' naval and military air development tended to make a tunnel a dangerous experiment.
