REBUILDING EPSOM SCHOOL
TENDERS ABOVE GRANT.
PORTION READY NEXT YEAR.
It is hoped, the'" rebuilding of Epsom school will be commenced before the end of this month, in which case the main part, or four rooms at least, should be ready for use at the beginning of next year. A statement to this effect was made last evening by Mr. E. C. Purdie, secretary to the Education Board. The position is that the tenders for the work were considerably in excess of the grant authorised by the Education Department, and the board is now negotiating with the department for an increase in tho grant.
