TRAFFIC BY-LAWS BROKEN.
MANY MOTORISTS FINED.
A number of motorists appeared at the Police Court yesterday before Mr. J. W. Povnton, S.M., for breaches of tho city by-laws. A penalty of £5 was imposed upon J. E. Gamble for passing a stationary tramcar. For leaving vehicles unattended between a safety zone and the footpath, G. McKendrick, A. H. Rovlance and J. C. Craig were each fined 10s and' ordered to pay 9s costs. T. M. j Davis was fined 10s for leaving a vehicle I unattended and a similar penalty was im- 1 posed upon C. H. Halfora # for parking a vehicle so as to constitute 'an obstruction to a fire plug.- Penalties of 10s were imposed upon tho following for having insufficient' lights: A. S. P. Brookfield, W. J. Dallon, H. B. Hobday, H. Holmes, P. King, C. A. McMillan and. W. E. Utting. ' James Doherty was ordered to pay costs for dangerous driving, and for a similar offence T. A. Lewis, who pleacled that he was hurrying a patient to the hospital, was convicted.
