DRAINAGE EXTENSION.
ONE TRE£ HILL DISTRICT.
WORK IN EASTERN AREA.
TENDERS TO BE CALLED.
The One Tree Hill Road Board met last evening, Mr. R. G. Clark presiding.
Authority was given the engineer to (fall tenders for drainage works in the eastern area, for which a loan of £18,000 was authorised six months ago. In regard to the flooding of sewers, attributed largely to storm water being carried into them, it was decided to demand that property-owners produce written authority to connect with the sewers or disconnect within 14 days, failing which proceedings would be taken.
On the engineer's recommendation it Was decided to form footpaths in Moana Avenue, Mariri Road, and in Wheturangi Road. A member of the board said that although there were few houses in the roads in question it was necessary to encourage building. - The building inspector reported that building permits to the total of £4034 had been granted during the last fortnight. •>
