LEAGUE OF NATIONS.

NEW ZEALAND'S POSITION. REPRESENTATION QUESTION. [BX TELEGUAPH.—SPECIAL REPORTER.] WELLINGTON. Tuesday. Members of Parliament have been showing some curiosity about the representation of New Zealand at the next meeting of the General Assembly of the League of Nations. In the House of Representatives to-day Mr. G. W. Forbes (Hurunui) asked the Prime Minister whether any communication had been received from the Imperial Government respecting the matter, and, if so, whether the Government would lay the correspondence upon tho table and give the House an opportunity of discussing it. The Prime Minister in reply said the Government had received from the secretary of the League of Nations a notification of the date of the meeting and an inquiry as to whether New Zealand intended to be represented or not. The matter was before the Cabinet and would be dealt with at an early date. The leader of the Labour Party, Mr. H. E. Holland, asked whether a report upon the recent; operations of the League of Nations would be presented to the House, and, if so, when. Mr. Massey replied that a report would bo presented, but he could not say wher it would be. The present business would certainly have to be disposed of first. The Hon. J. A. Hanan (Invercargill) suggested that the report might be taken together with the Imperial Conference report, but the Prime Minister replied that the two would be better kept separate.
