TAXI-CAR BURNED.
FLAMES UNDER FOOTBOARDS
[BY. telegraph.—own correspondent HAMILTON, Tuesday.
A seven-seater taxi-ear, owned by Mr. William Jury, was destroyed by fire on the Raglan Road at Whatawhata at about 10 o'clock last evening, while returning to Hamilton. The electric lights on the car went out and almost immediately flames burst through the footboards. Despite the owner's efforts to extinguish the flames by means of a fire the car was reduced to a mass of wreckage. It was covered by a policy in the Yorkshire office.;
