AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

There -was again general inquiry for investment stocks on the "Auckland sharemarket yesterday. Quotations for Government securities were in the main unchanged. War Loans, 1927, changed hands at £98, holders again closing ad £98 ss, buyers receding 2s 6d below Monday's figure to £97 15s. There was inquiry for Inscribed Stock, 1939. at £97 2s 6d, or 2s 6d better than the previous day's offer. In banks New Zealands again had sale at 55s 3d, late buyers 555, sellers 55s 6d. Other quotations were unchanged except that buyers of Unions of Australia advanced their offers by 3s to £15 4s. In insurances there were buyers of New Zealands at 29s 6d, sellers firm at 30s. South British were again wanted at 40s, holders 40s 6d. Industrial stocks and most miscellaneous lines were quoted at about late rates. The only sale was that of Manning's Breweries at 30s 4d and 30s 6d, buyers' closing offer at 30s remaining the same as en the previous day, sellers 31s. In mining Waihis were sought at 295, holders asking 29s 6d, a drop of 3d in each instance. Buyers of Grand Junctions advanced Id to 2s 9d, with sellers at 2s lOd, a drop of 2d: The following sales took place:—New Zealand War Loan, 1927, £98; Bank of New Zealand, 55s 3d; Manning's Brewery, 30s 4d and 30s 6d.
