DUST DISEASES.
EXAMINING LABOURERS.
A thorough investigation of diseases peculiar to stonemasons, quarrymen, and sewerage miners -.rill be made by a technical committee in Sydney appointed by the Board of Trade. The committee will report to the Government with regard to a scheme of compensation for. the men affected in health by their work. In making this announcement si, a . meeting of the Board of Trade lately, Judge Beeby said that it was anticipated that over 1000 men in the metropolitan area alone would be examined. That work had to be completed within three months. To get an accurate idea of the health condition of the men it would bo necessary to examine at least 70 per cent.
