ACCIDENT IN PARIS.
DR. PORRITT'S LUCKY ESCAPE Sun. PARIS. July 13. Dr. A. E. Porritt, the New Zealand Olympic Games athlete, had a narrow escape on Saturday night. In company with five fellow university men, he was entering a taxi, when a highpowered car charged into the midst of the group. An American and an Englishman were knocked down and pinned beneath the qar. Both were seriously injured. Further details of the accident show that all Dr. R»rritt's companions were pinned under the car, he alone escaping. Two were seriously injured and the other three were slightly injured.
