FOOTBALL FIELD MISHAPS.
INJURIES TO PLAYERS.
ONE FRACTURES COLLARBONE.
Injuries were sustained by a number of footballers taking part in the various games on Saturday afternoon.
Ross McLean, a member of the Grammar Old Boys senior team, while playing in the Rugby match against Marist Old Boys at Eden Park, had his right leg lacerated above the knee, and was removed to the hospital for treatment.
A cut above the right eye was iweived' by Campbell while playing in the sixth grade League match for City against Ellerslie, at the Ellerslie racecourse. A stitch was necessary. Plummer, of the University second grade Rugby team, had his collarbone fractured in a match against Ponsonby at the Showgrounds. Both these players were attended to by the officers of the St. John Ambulance, who also conveyed McLean to the hospital.
At Paeroa a senior player named Tia Williams had his nose broken, and a schoolboy, William Leach, sustained a broken arm.
