TAXI-DRIVER'S GRIEVANCE.
DENIAL OF A STATEMENT.
With reference to a letter published on Saturday and written by a taxi-driver, Mr. A. E. Parker, concerning damage done to his car by a man under police escort, the writer stated that he was informed by the sub-inspector that no damages could be claimed as the man had done time in gaol. The . sub-inspector states that Mr. Parker had never been to see him, and he himself had made no such statement as that reported in the letter.
