MAN'S LONELY DEATH.
FOUND ON RIMUTAKAS.
WOUNDS AND EXPOSURE.

CARTERTON, Saturday.
The inquest on the body of a man found on the Rimutaka incline on Monday last, was resumed at Feathcrston yesterday, when the body was identified by the police as that of Ernest E. Richmond. His njother resides in Wolverhampton, England, and he has no relatives in the Dominion. Deceased was employed in the Telegraph Department to Taumarunui. His manner was described as peculiar.
A post-mortem examination of the body revealed three wounds behind the ear, one severing the main artery. A broken quart bottle was found on the body. Death was due to loss of blood and exposure, the weather being the worst experienced for years. The coroner returned a verdict of death from injuries received by accident or otherwise, hemorrhage and exposure, there being no direct evidence to show how the wounds behind the ear were received.
