OLD THAMES BOYS.
FIRST REUNION OF SEASON.
The first reunion this season of the Old Thames Boys' Association was held 1 in the Druid's Hall, Newton, on Saturday evening, the president, Mr. W. Blomfield, occupying the chair. Owing to the inclemency of the weather there was only a fair attendance, but what was lacking in numbers was made up in sociability. A special resolution was moved by" Mr. Ben Myers, as follows:—"That tho heartiest congratulations of the association be tendered to Sir James Gunson on the recent attainment of his well-mer-ited knighthood." Mr. Myers stated that Sir James was still a comparatively young man and a resume of his attainments was. decidedly remarkable. Ho was a man of force and action and it was one of the most fortunate events that had ever happened to Auckland at that important period of its history to have the continuous services for over nine years of a man of Sir James Gunson's great ability, combined with administrative power and tireless energy. The resolution was carried with acclamation. •So;igs, recitations and musical items were contributed by Messrs. J. Calvert, P. 0. Smith, S. Harris, W. Weir; A. Bonella, G. H. Katterns, C. Wilson, C. E. Archibald and Captain R. H. Gibbons. Mr. E. Beacham acted as accompanist.
