Bad weather conditions prevailed for the match at Kensington Park to-day between Hikurungi, the leaders in thte Genior competition, and Old Boys. The game was marked chiefly by good play by the' backs on both sides and quite unusual tackling. For Old Boys. Fraser and Collins scored tries, one of which was converted by Sheriff. Hikurangi won by 15 points to 8. tries for the winning team being secured by E. Taylor, R. Cuaninghara (two). A. Cunningham, and Ansell. None were converted. Owing to a misunderstanding, due to the state of 'the weather, the Kamo and Maungaiaram'aa senior match - was not played. Hikurangi is now in an almost unassailable winning oosition. Another importan? match was the junior game in which Horahora. beat High School bv 8 points to 0, thus winning the section of the junior competitions SOUTHERN MATCHES. TUX TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WANGANUI. Saturday. In to-dav's Rugby football contests. Pirates defeated Wavevley by 13 points to 0. Ratana defeated Old Boys by 20 to 9, and Kaearau defeated Technical Old Boys by 17 to 9.
WELLINGTON. Saturday. The following are results of to-day's Rugby football matches:—Oriental 16, Athletic 15; Poneke 8, Wellington 5; Barb am - pore 22, Selwyn 0; Marist 12, Old Boys 6; Varsity 15, Hutt 6.
CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. The following are the results of to-day's Rugby football matches:— 13, Christchurch 8; Morivale 30, Albion 3; Old Boys 20, North Canterbury 3.
DUNEDIN, Saturday. The Rugby football matches played _ today resulted: —Pirates 13, Zingari 11; Aiahambra 20, Union 0 Southern 11, Dunedin 6; Raikorai 18, Taieri Rovers 3.
