' Strenuous efforts are being made by the Hamilton Racing Club to have its new course at Te Rapa ready for racing this year. Men have been employed for some time levelling the ground on the. west side of the course,, and tenders have been let for- the erection of 50 looseboxes. Tenders have been called for the erection of totalisator houses, and these will be considered in the course of the next week. ;An application has been made to the Railway Department through the Waipa County Council for a crossing near the south-western entrance to the course, and negotiations between the department and the council are now in progress. '
