The tone of the Auckland sharemarket was unaltered yesterday. There was general inquiry for investment stocks, but little business was transacted. In Government securities "a sale of Inscribed Stock, 1927 v was recorded at £98, with further inquiry at £97 10s. Practically all other Government war issues had inquiry at late buying rates. holders in most instances not quoting. In banks there was a sale of Nationals of New Zealand at £6 16s 6d, with further inquiry at the same figure. New Zealands at 52s 6d had demand at 52s 3d. New South Wales had buyers at £40 15s, sellers £41 ss; Union of Australia, buyers £14 12s, sellers £14 15s. In insurance . New Zealands at 30s wore sought at 29s 6d- For South British 40s 3d was offered, no sellers responding. In gas Aucklands changed hands at 25s 6d, more being available Hi, that price, with buyers at 25s 4d. In shipping business was dona in .Howard Smiths at 36s 3d, more being wanted at 365, sellers 375. Huddart-i'arkers had buyers at 42s 9d, sellers 43s 3d; Northern Stcamshio (ex div.) buyers 16a, sellers 16s 3d. In miscellaneous lines Wilsons Cement sold at 29s 6d, late buyers offering 29s and sellers asking 30s. In mining Zeehan Consolidated changed hands at 8s 6d, with further inquiry at Bs, sellers 12s. Waihi (ex.div.) were quoted at, buyers 30a 3d sellers 30s 9d. Grand Junctions had buyers at 2s 7u, sellers 2s lid; Moanataians, buyers la 6d, sellers Is 9d.
