COMMITTEE'S DIFFERENCES. LONDON. May 1. The Sun's ' special representative has been informed that the meetings of the Empire > Pageant Committee, which I includes Dominion representatives, has been characterised by ; many disputes and much plain speaking, leading ;to the reorganisation of tlie committee and the Recasting' of the plans of the : Department of Overseas Trade, which originally undertook • the direction of the pageant. It appointed five producers, . including bir Frank Benson, Mr. Louis Parker, and Mr. Granville Barker. The Dominion representatives,' learning that it was intended that Mr. Frank Lascelles, the • pageant , expert, should direct the Dominion scenes, while the other four directors concentrated on the British scenes, protested that the arrangement was unfair, and demanded radical alterations. , ': ' ' ; - Eventually the department withdrew certain of its representatives, agreed, to the appointment of Mr Lascelles as sole producer, and acceded generally to the views of the Dominions.
