OBITUARY
EARL OF ASHBURNHAM. •Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed, 10.5 p.m.) LOUDON, May 12. The Earl of Ashburnham, the last of his line, died at the Grosvenor Hotel with dramatic suddenness. The cause of death was pneumonia. The earl only arrived, in England last week from Canada, and this was his first i visit since he succeeded to the title in 1913. The late Earl of Ashburnham was the fifth son of the fourth earl. He was born in April, 1855. He served with the Seventh Hussars in Egypt in 1882, and retired from the Army in 1889. He was at one , time extra aide-de-camp to Lords Carnarvon and Aberdeen. ~;
