J HAMILTON", Tuesclty " The damage done to the Great South Road through our county during the railway • strike is considerably more than would be caused by 12 months' ordinary traffic, said the engineer to the W'aipa County Council at its meeting yesterday. He added that the fact ilj'istrated what he had often pointed out; it was time the council tar-sealed the road.
The council will go into the qufsition at next meeting.
