' There ' were . many visitors to • 'the waterfront ? to. see the ships, ' and! . they were doubly' ; - j fortunate in the weather and the absenoe of great crowds. ' - Only the battle-cruiser Repulse was open to the public, but daring ■ . r the afternoons a large number availed . themselves of the privilege. ; In the morning 150Q -children from city, ( Pakuranga, ' New Lynn, and ; Avondale . schools made an eager company on the Repulse.- . . Possibly c the : finest view of the fleet : can be had from the stream opposite Prince's : > Wharf.
