' • I car and killed instantaneously. j The child, who ■ resided with a ; relative ■ ', : 3fj in Arawa Street, was playing on the foot- > path at the junction of Khyber Pass 1 and Arawa Street vith other young child- ' #:■! ren. He ran down the road and hesitated midway between the' tramline and the kerbiug. A tramcar driven by Motorman. C. W. Walker was proceeding on the down . grade, and the littlechiid suddenly darted in front of it and was knocked down. > '?i ; The motorman applied his. brakes . promptly, but when the car was brought to rest the boy was found pinned to the ground by the frame of the motor housing. ~ It ■ was ; seen immediately that life, was extinct.
