At a meeting of tho Management Committee- of the ;otago branch of the Educational Institute ; the following resolution was adopted' j • > r ; 1. This , branch .- emphatically ;; protests against the decreased maxima of jienioi* as-: - sistants . under the new r scale, inasmuch as it is really a third cut in the salaries attaching/ to these • positions. v. li. 3. This branch strongly protests against the revocation of clause 23 of the old re- . gulations, which based . the grading of the district; high schools on : both -i Secondary and primary departments. The amended regulations provide for the grading of district* high schools on the ? primary department ' alone," 1 thus ''lowering; the salaries of assistants of that department. i: #
