'The Marconi Company will ask tne Government to delay its second post office station to allow it to demonstrate its ability to transmit beams over long distances. ( Hitherto the longest beam lias been from Cornwall to the Cape Verde Islands (approximately 2500 miles), but the Marconi Company claims that a beam is practicable to Australia.
