RAVAGES IN BRITAIN). Sun. v I/O DON, May 6. In the House of Commons Mr. Noel Buxton, Minister for Agriculture, announced that 3060 cases of foot and mouth disease had been reported since August. Thirty-nine English, eleven Scottish, and two Welsh counties were affected. The result had been the slaughter of 103,138 caittle, 42,969 sheep and 47,693 pigs. Compensation payable was estimated at £3,237,000.
