Protests Against Elections. Several protests were received from country districts with regard to the recent election of school committees. The elections were • upheld in the case of Mana- ' whae, Colville, Rangiahua,: and Whangamarino. & The To .yk election was declared void, the chairman of the" meeting having admitted that the wives of householders were i\ct permitted to vote. A letter was received- from the" Morrins- ; ville School '■?' Committee recommending i that attendance! of pupils a.t- the Hamilton 1 Technical School be discontinued at- ; the : expiry of the present railway passes, and 1 renewing the request for the establishment of a ' technical high school 1 at Morrinsville, The board, while agreeing -to use every effort to : secure the erection .of the latter, decided that in the meantime the present arrangement'should be continued. >:. ;.: ' ' A request for the installation of heating 1 apparatus in Kowhai High School was re- . ferred to the architect' for a report.
