THE PAKURANGA HUNT.
MEET AT MANGERE.
THREE KILLS RECORDED,
The cross roads at . the Mangere Pound was the rendezvous for the followers of tho Pakuranga Hunt yesterday. The weather was ideal for the sport, and a good number of hunting enthusiasts assembled.. - ,
The huntsman and his hounds with the followers proceeded along Westney Road to Mr. Paul Speedy's farm, and in the paddock adjoining the road the first cast with hounds was made. * A' strong hare was put up near the stock-yard, and pet a' merry pace, as it ran : down to Cox's Creek, and turning, came bade over Mr. Cox's farm past the Anglican Church, and continued down Westney Road past the pound. It was turned over by the hounds at the tennis courts.
Throughout the afternoon vary good sport was provided, and. several short bursts took place, and two further kills were recorded. V' * :
Hounds were later taken along the Mangere Road and put into Mr. E. Paul's property just past the school. Hereabouts a very fine hare was set going shortly before ithree o'clock, and : was pushed along at a good pace down to Messrs. Whyte'fi farm at Pukaki, and, completely circling the creek basin .on Mrs. Paul's property, was eventually lost.. Among the followers were:—Lady Jellicoe on Cobweb, Hon.
