The Rome correspondent of the Times slates that owing to an alarming spread oi clandestine gaming houses throughout Italy, the Government has decided to permit public gambling. Regular establishments for playing games of chance will be permitted in future at spas and health resorts. They will, however, be subject to the strictest rules and regulations, and will be heavily taxed.
