HUNTLY HARD HIT.

CLOSING OF THE MINES. A TOWN OF IDLE MEN. .WORKERS USING SAYINGS. FEW HOMES NOT AFFECTED. [by telegraph.—own CORRESPONDENT.] HUNTLY, Monday. Practically the whole of the male population of Huntly is out of employment, as the result of the inability of the coalmine owners in that town to secure railway trucks. The mines are all closed' down and as coal hewing is practically the solo industry there are very few homes in the town which are enjoying the benefits of a weekly wage. The workingmen's families are eating into their little stores of accumulated cash and when these are expended they will find it a difficult problem to live. The stores are the only places open in the town, which resembles the scene during the 1913 strike period.
