SETTLED IN THREE DAYS.
LABOUR LEADER'S HOPE. A railwaymen's domonstration was held last evening in the Strand Theatre. The president of the Auckland branch of the A.S.R.S., Mr. T. McCready, occupied the chair. There was a largo attendance. Mr. W. E. Parry M.P., .said he believed the present fight was going to be fought out by the men in a most determined way. He believed, also, that before three days the whole trouble would be settled. (Loud applause.) He felt that the engineers and fireman were going to play the game with the railway workers. If the dispute were not settled within a wees it might be a prolonged trouble, and then it would mean a fight To the finish and they would want to.collect all the money possible. Bub it was his trust that the dispute would be settled within the week, and he saw no reason in the world why that should not be so. In the event of a refusal to settle, they must see that the men and women did not suffer in the fight. A resolution wa3 passed endorsing the effort made by the members of the AS.ft.S. against any encroachment on the 44 hours week. The meeting decided to extend them the fullest financial and moral support.
