LIQUOR FROM CHEMISTS.
CONDITIONS IN TORONTO. A. and N.Z. TORONTO, April 25. Numerous drug stores have been turned into bootlegging centres, according to the Star. The paper publishes a two-column article by a reporter who made the rounds, and stated that he had no trouble in getting drinks in any part of the city. Many shops apparently gave drugs merely secondary consideration, devoting their principal attention to the sale of whisky. In many places the reporter says he found half a dozen men drinking. He also observed that women were served with liquor in telephone booths.
