STANLEY BAY CHAMPIONSHIP.
The final of the championship of the Stanlev Butt Bowling Club was played 011 uea day afternoon, when J Hollows .. veteran player, who had been champion of the Dev onport Club for two or three reasons won by a narrow margin from K. McMaaters, last year's champion, and the yougesfc member of the club. , , ,v The contest was an even one and both players gave a fine exhibition of bowls, ihe scores were even on the 16th head. llo £* was 3 up on the 19th. but Monasters, by excellent play, evened the score on the next. Both players displayed great judgment on the last head. Hollows winning the match mid the championship by a very narrow margin. RAWHITI V. MOUNT WELLINGTON. On Monday P. Munro proved the winning skip, but for the leads five players tied:—Pemborton. Miller, G. Hammond, Kingdon, and Deakm. • They were eventually reduced to two. Miller and Hammond, who agreed to divide th© prize. CAMBRIDGE TOURNAMENT. [B'E TELEGRAPH.'OWN correspondent.] CAMBRIDGE. Wednesday. The section final between the two Hamilton teams skipped by Qualtrough and Coombes rt-pectively, was played at Cambridge this afternoon. , After an excellent contest the game ended in. a draw, 17 all. Both twins played excellent. bowls.* Uualtrough was leading at the nineteenth neaa by three, when Coombes scored a bnllianfc five. At the last head Qualtrough drew a, good two. The tie will be replayed on Sa»U,, rhe" position in the pairs competition, is as follows:—Section A, Speight and Prickett (Hamilton East), 7 wins, 0 losses; section B. Marston and Molntyre (Huntly), C wins, 1 loss; section C. Mason and Hosking (Avondale) and Land and Dimock CWhitiosra), < 0 wins, lloss: section D, Herd (Rotorua) and Low and Mclvor (Cambridgel, 6 wins, 1 loss. The two section ties, -the semi-finals and the finals will be played on Thursday.
