The Government meteorologist reported ast night as follows Present indications are for north-west to south-westerly winds, strong to a gale, weather squally with heavy showers, and probably colder. Barometer rising everywhere soon. f HERALD SPECIAL FORECAST. •The following weather forecast for 48 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evenmg: A temporary improvement in weather conditions is likely, then clouding over again, with further rain following. After a long period of quiescence, Antarctic influences are now developing, and will probably result in unsettled weather predominating during the nest few days, with rain at, times, but fine periods will intervene. North-west to westerly winds, moderate to strong, and squally at intervals. Seas moderating on East Coast, and beooming rough on all the western coast.
