It was decided that the plans and specifications being prepared for the new Huia dam be referred to the Works Committee for report as to the advisability of letting the work by tender. It was also decided that the question of bath-house accommodation at Point Chevalier Beach bo considered at the halfyearly period, and that no action bo taken this year at the other city beaches. The question of providing a ladies' rest room in the city was considered, but was finally deferred, to be again discussed when the arrangement of the proposed buildings on the Civic Square is being decided. The estimates and memorandum were adopted, members congratulating the Mayor on the remarkably complete summary of the council's operations, and his exhaustive study of the financial resources of the city. -
