SOME LARGE PRICES. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. April 23. The feature of the blood ■took Bales' wan the spirited character of the bidding that Ensued for the progeny of Valais. seven of the number realising 10,250gn5. Three colts sired by Valais were sold respectively fox 2000gns., 1400gns., and 1300gns. Two fillies by Valais were sold respectively for 1250gns. and 900gns., and two othtors were quitted for 700gns. eaoh. The average for Valais* progeny was a little over 1464gn&.. whioh is an Australian record. - Several lots were secured by New Zealanders operating at the sale. The following were bought by , Mr. J. T. Jamießon:— by Demosthenes — Queen (450gns.). filly by Demosthenes— (120gns.), colt by Bardolph—Carmetta (XOOgns.), colV by Eaton Lad—Persianello (llOgns.). v Mr. W. J. Wilson bought thfe .colt by Cicftrio— Hart for 240gns., and : the colt by Westcourt Lass for 525gns, Mr. J. C. Gleeson - secured the colt by Comedy Kingßerylium for 475gns. The colt bv —Charlene fell to Mr. H. Telford's bid of 70gns. So far as tfcs sales have' progressed the 143 lots offered have realised 47,975gn5.
