DEATH-ROLL OF NINE.
ARSON CHARGE FOLLOWS.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. CRaod. 7.80 pan.) NEW YORK, April 19 Sairrael Moore and Leo Unell, owners of a sporting goods house in Chicago, have been arrested on a charge of arson. Their alleged act resulted in the worst fire Chicago has experienced for many years, Shortly after midnight yesterday, when 100 firemen —ere fighting the blaze on the top floor of a four-storey structure, the front wall fell, burying many in the debris. It was at first feared that over 20 firemen were killed. It now transpires that the death-roll was nine, including ; one civilian. The police allege that Moore set fire to the building in order to collect the insurance which had just been effected on the premises.
