KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR.
HUTT ROAD ACCIDENT. The new bitumen track on the Hutt Road, Wellington, was the scene of a distressing accident last week, when a boy named George Standen, five years of age, was knocked down by a Palmes ton North - motor-car at Kaiwarra and severely injured. On his removal to the Wellington Hospital he was found to be suffering from & broken left .thigh and injuries to the head. A motorist who traverses the Hntt Road daily states that the new road must inevitably take its toll of human life unless the most vigorous restrictions are placed on motori»jts afflicted with a desire for speeding, because a new flat even running surface is conducive to excessive speed.
