FORMER BANK BUILDING.
QUEEN AND WYNDHAM STS. CONVERSION INTO SHOPS. [Mr telegraph.— CORBESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Monday. The general manager of the State Fire Office stated to-day that no suitable tenders were received for the purchase of the block of buildings in Auckland until recently occupied by the Bank of Australasia. : '';'..,'.'•'. "/, The buildings are now being altered to be made into shops and offices. It is stated unofficially thajt the post office did. not want the block.. The buildings on the northern corner of Queen and Wyndham Streets were Surchased for £32,000 by the State Fire 'ffice late in 1920, the Bank of Australasia moving last year into the buildings on the opposite corner, vacated by the National Bank. -
