SCIENCE AND RELIGION.
A lecture entitled science and religion was given at the Theosophical Hall on Sunday by Mr. W. J. Hcyting. The lecturer said it is difficult to understand why science is so often thought of as incompatible with religion, why the existence of one is supposed to make the existence of the other impossible. The apparent incompatibility must be duo to a confusion between religion in its true sense and religious theory. Religion iii its truest and broadest sense is tho principle or spirit which underlies all forms of religion, whatever their creeds. In this sense religion can never be incompatible with science.
