THE RUGBY GAME. NEW ZEALAND UNION. ONLY ONE AUCKLAND DELEGATE. The annual meeting of delegates of the New Zealand Rugby Union will be held in Wellington to-day. ~,«•. Mr. H. Frost, of the Auckland Rugby Union, left on Tuesday evening for Wellington, but his co-delegate, Mr. V. K. Meredith, was unable to go, owing to short notice. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League met last the chairman. Mr. W. J. Hamimll, presiding. A letter was received from the Hamilton League asking the committee to arrange for a team from the Waikato centre to play a local team at Carlaw Park on Easter Saturday. The chairman pointed out that the Auckland teams would not be ready for matches by this date, and the ground would not be ready for serious competition before the end of the month. It was decided to reply accordingly. The difficulty of playing senior grade matches upon suburban grounds was emphasised by a delegate, who said the surfaces wore unsatisfactory, and that provision for keeping the spectators from encroaching upon the field was lacking. The Grounds Committee was deputed to inspect the suburban playing areas. The chairman reported that arrangements were in hand for the renovation of Carlaw Park prior to the opening of the season. The ground would not be available for use next Saturday. The Mangere United and Ellerslie clubs asked for permission to enter teams for the senior competitions. It was decided to accept a team from each club. The chairman said that nine teams would take the field this Beason for the senior competitions. He submitted a scheme for senior grade matches. After some consideration, a programme was adopted by which the nine teams will play one complete round, and the first six contest a second round. The remaining three teams will play special matches among themselves. DRAW FOR SENIOR MATCHES.
